In Xanadu did Kubla Khan                      于讓那都忽必烈汗
A stately pleasure-dome decree:                  敕令起造金碧輝煌之圓穹離宮：
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran                 阿爾發，神聖之河，奔流
Through caverns measureless to man              穿過無人能測度之窟洞
Down to a sunless sea.                         注入不見天日之海洋。
So twice five miles of fertile ground               故而雙倍的五英哩之肥沃土地
With walls and towers were girdled round:          環繞著城牆與高塔：
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,     禁苑裏小川蜿蜒明媚動人，
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;     眾多香氛氤氳樹木開花燦爛；
And here were forests ancient as the hills,          森林與山丘同樣古老，
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.               擁抱陽光斑駁之草木。

But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted    然則啊！那深邃浪漫之深壑敧斜
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!       直落青山穿過冷杉下之灌木林！
A savage place! as holy and enchanted           蠻荒之所！神聖又蠱惑
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted       彷彿昔日朔月下鬼魂縈繞
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!          婦人為其鬼戀人哀悽悲泣！
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, 從此深壑湧出，永不間斷的沸騰急湍，
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,   宛若大地以急促沈重之喘息呼吸吐納，
A mighty fountain momently was forced:         一股強勁的泉水突然迸出：
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst          于其迅猛半間歇爆發中
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,      巨大碎片翻滾彷彿彈跳之冰雹，
Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail:        或秕穅似之穀粒翻飛於打穀者連枷之下：
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever     于此岩石飛舞電光石火之瞬間
It flung up momently the sacred river.            聖河突然衝出。
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion        蜿蜒五英哩曲折迴旋左右流之
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,       聖河流經森林與山谷，
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,     爾後抵達無人能測度之洞穴，
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean:           波濤澎湃沉入闃無生機之海洋：
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far        于此騷動中忽必烈聽聞遠方
Ancestral voices prophesying war!              祖先的聲音預言兵燹！
     The shadow of the dome of pleasure       歡樂圓穹之陰影
     Floated midway on the waves;            漂蕩於波浪的中途之上；
     Where was heard the mingled measure     混合的音律依稀可聞
     From the fountain and the caves.          來自水泉與洞穴。
It was a miracle of rare device,           那是稀罕精巧的創造之奇蹟，
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!   陽光閃耀下歡樂圓穹之冰窟！
